The Forest School

Forest School

Forest School is a unique and enriching learning experience that connects children to nature and encourages exploration, creativity, and independence. By spending time in natural outdoor environments, children develop essential life skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and resilience. Forest School fosters a deep sense of environmental stewardship, while also promoting physical, emotional, and cognitive growth through hands-on activities like building, crafting, and outdoor play. It allows children to take risks, learn from their mistakes, and build confidence in a safe, supportive setting. The importance of Forest School lies in its ability to nurture a child’s curiosity, sense of wonder, and connection to the world around them – skills that will benefit them for life.

Finding God in the Beauty of His Creation

At our Catholic Forest School, the activities are designed to help children connect deeply with nature while growing in their faith and appreciation for the Creator. Each session is an opportunity for hands-on exploration, where children engage in outdoor activities such as nature walks, outdoor prayer, and quiet reflection in the beauty of God’s creation.

They will learn about plants, animals, and ecosystems, while also reflecting on the beauty of creation, crafting with natural materials, and linking the program to stories of saints and Scripture will help children see God’s presence in all aspects of creation.

Through many activities children will develop a sense of awe and gratitude for the environment, while growing in their understanding of the sacredness of life. Our Catholic Forest School fosters both spiritual and personal growth, encouraging children to see the world as a gift from God and to care for it with love and respect.
